The 70th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off May 16

Starting May 16, 2025, Disneyland Resort will honor seven decades of happiness with the 70th Anniversary Celebration, running through summer 2026. Expect dazzling decorations throughout the resort, including a stunning medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey and Minnie Mouse (and some of their pals) will debut new outfits, perfect for photo ops in Town Square.

At Disney California Adventure, the all-new nighttime spectacular “World of Color Happiness!” will light up the lagoon, inspired by Walt Disney’s heartfelt words: “To all who come to this happy place...welcome!” Meanwhile, the Carthay Circle Restaurant will host a special moment nightly with lights, music, and projections.

Returning favorites include the vibrant “Paint the Night” parade at Disneyland Park and the lively “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade at California Adventure. The beloved “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular will also make a comeback, enhanced with fireworks on select evenings.

A new character cavalcade and a projection show on the façade of “it’s a small world” are also set to debut, adding even more magic to your visit. And let’s not forget the new theme song, “Celebrate Happy,” which will bring extra joy to the festivities.

Seasonal Celebrations and Limited-Time Events

Disneyland Resort truly shines during its seasonal events, and 2025 is no exception! Here's an overview of the special events planned for Disneyland Resort in 2025:

Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park (Jan. 17–Feb. 16): Celebrate the Year of the Snake with a vibrant array of offerings inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions. In 2025, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will debut stunning new outfits featuring traditional Korean designs. Highlights of the celebration include the “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” water short, the lively “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” on select days, and daily live musical performances. Guests can also indulge in Asian-inspired cuisine at six Lunar New Year marketplaces and select dining locations throughout the park, making this celebration a feast for the senses!

Anaheim Ducks Day (Jan. 24): Hockey fans, this one’s for you! Over at Disney California Adventure, you can catch a fun cavalcade featuring select Anaheim Ducks players, join in on some themed games, and soak up all the hockey vibes. And it doesn’t stop there—head to Downtown Disney for Anaheim Ducks Day Overtime, a fan zone packed with entertainment, activities, and awesome photo ops. Whether you're a die-hard Ducks fan or just love a good themed day, this is the perfect way to mix a little hockey magic into your Disney trip!

Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland Park (Feb. 8 and 15): If you’ve never experienced Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland, you’re in for something truly special. This long-standing tradition brings an incredible energy to the park with powerful performances by community choirs from all over Southern California and some amazing award-winning artists. Whether you’re a gospel music fan or just love live music that lifts your spirits, this event is absolutely worth planning your visit around. Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival (Feb. 28–April 21): This is hands down one of our favorite events at Disneyland Resort! The festival celebrates all the flavors of California with creative menu items from ten different marketplaces, including two exciting new themes this year. The food is truly incredible and adds so much to the already magical atmosphere of Disney California Adventure—it’s like a foodie’s dream come true! Plus, there’s live entertainment, appearances by Chef Goofy, and fun bookable culinary experiences. And if that’s not enough, the classic Soarin’ Over California attraction is back, making it the perfect time to visit. Whether you're a foodie or just love trying new things, this festival is a must-do! That Snickerdoodle Macaron is already calling our name!

Season of the Force at Disneyland Park (March 28–May 11): Ready to jump to lightspeed? Over at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the nightly “Fire of the Rising Moons” show will dazzle with incredible projection effects and galactic music—plus, fireworks on select nights to make it even more epic. And don’t miss the return of Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland, where you’ll hurtle through the galaxy dodging TIE fighters. It’s the perfect time to embrace your inner Jedi—or Sith—and immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe!

Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party (Summer): Get ready for the ultimate playdate, little ones! This summer, Disney Junior’s biggest stars are back for a one-day event at Disney California Adventure and a two-day party at Downtown Disney. You’ll get to meet some of your favorite Disney Junior characters, dance along to lively entertainment, and join in fun activities made just for kids (and their grown-ups too). Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park (Aug. 22-Nov. 2): Not sure about you, but Coco is a favorite for our family, and Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park brings it to life in the most magical way! From August 22–November 2, this celebration honors the everlasting bonds of family and the vibrant spirit of Día de Los Muertos. It’s such a heartwarming way to connect with loved ones, surrounded by the beautiful colors, music, and traditions inspired by the Academy Award®-winning Pixar film.
