What’s better than wandering down Main Street with a peppermint mocha in one hand and a Mickey balloon in the other?

We honestly can’t think of a thing!

Visiting Walt Disney World during the holidays is an incredibly magical experience. The decorations are up, the gingerbread Mickeys are fresh, and the spirit of the season is practically everywhere.

While you may not be ready to visit Walt Disney World this holiday season, the good news is that you can start planning your holiday retreat for next year.

Walt Disney World rooms, theme park tickets and vacation packages for November and December 2027 are officially open for booking.

That means now is a great time to start thinking about next year’s holiday plans, especially if you have your heart set on a particular Disney Resort, room type or travel week.

Need a gift idea for your family this coming Christmas? We know just the thing…

When Can You Book Disney World for November and December 2027?

Walt Disney World Resort rooms, theme park tickets and vacation packages for November and December 2027 opened for booking on October 6, 2026.

With November and December dates becoming available, guests can begin booking trips throughout the holiday season, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

You don’t need to have every detail of your vacation figured out yet, either. Getting your dates and accommodations secured gives you a starting point, and the rest of your holiday plans can come together as your trip gets closer.

Why Are November and December So Popular at Disney World?

There’s something extra special about Walt Disney World during the holidays.

Holiday decorations transform the theme parks and resorts, seasonal treats appear throughout Walt Disney World, and special entertainment and events add even more reasons to visit.

It’s also worth making time to explore the Disney Resorts during your trip. Many have their own elaborate Christmas trees, decorations and displays.

And then there are the special holiday events. In recent years, guests have been able to add events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights to their vacations.

Of course, the experience can vary quite a bit depending on when you visit. An early November trip can feel very different from spending Christmas week at Walt Disney World.

When Should You Visit Disney World During the Holidays?

There really isn’t one “best” time to visit Walt Disney World during the holiday season. The right dates depend on the experience you’re looking for, your schedule and how comfortable you are with holiday crowds.

Should You Book Your Holiday Disney Vacation Early?

If you already know you want to visit Walt Disney World during the 2027 holiday season, there are some advantages to getting an early start.

You may want to book early if you:

  • Want a specific Disney Resort or room category
  • Plan to travel during Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s
  • Are traveling with a larger family or group
  • Need a room type that accommodates five or more guests
  • Have limited flexibility with your travel dates

Booking early gives you more options to work with before popular resorts, room categories and dates begin filling up.

It doesn’t mean you need to plan every meal or decide which park you’ll visit each day more than a year in advance. That part comes later!

What Can You Book Now and What Comes Later?

One of the nice things about starting early is that you can secure the foundation of your vacation first and fill in the details over time.

You can start with:

  • Your travel dates
  • Walt Disney World Resort accommodations
  • Theme park tickets
  • Your Walt Disney World vacation package

Then, as your trip gets closer, you can plan:

  • Dining reservations
  • Your park days and itinerary
  • Lightning Lane selections and strategy
  • Special holiday events
  • Seasonal dining and experiences
  • Transportation and other trip details

Disney typically releases more information about its holiday celebrations and special events much closer to the season.
