Be Our Guest Vacations recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a marketing event at Disneyland Resort, where we got a firsthand look at the exciting new entertainment and offerings coming for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary celebration. Starting May 16, 2025, and running through the summer of 2026, Disneyland Resort will mark 70 years of magic with limited-time entertainment, dazzling decorations, themed food and beverages, exclusive merchandise, and more. From the return of fan-favorite parades to brand-new nighttime spectaculars, there’s never been a better time to visit The Happiest Place on Earth.

What's new for the 70th Anniversary

All-New Nighttime Spectacular: "World of Color – Happiness!"

Inspired by Walt Disney’s famous words, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome,” the new "World of Color – Happiness!" at Disney California Adventure Park will take guests on a colorful, emotional journey through some of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved stories. Hosted by Joy and her fellow emotions from "Inside Out" and "Inside Out 2," this show will feature music and scenes from "Turning Red," "The Incredibles," "A Goofy Movie," "Tangled," "Encanto," and more! Plus, expect special musical moments with Boyz II Men performing “Rainbow Connection” and Fitz from Fitz and the Tantrums debuting an original song, "Makes Me Wanna Move."

Before the show even begins, The Muppets—including Joe the Legal Weasel—will get things started with a lively pre-show. The combination of stunning fountains, laser projections, fire effects, and unforgettable music will make this a must-see experience.

The Return of "Paint the Night" Parade

The beloved "Paint the Night" Parade will light up Main Street, U.S.A., once again, featuring more than a million dazzling LED lights. This high-energy nighttime parade showcases characters from Disney Animation and Pixar favorites, including "Monsters, Inc.," "Cars," "Toy Story," "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," and more. Fans of "Frozen" will be thrilled to see Anna and Elsa’s float return - which has only been seen at the Disneyland version of Paint the Night!

"Wondrous Journeys" Returns to Disneyland Park

A Disneyland fan favorite, "Wondrous Journeys" will make its return to Sleeping Beauty Castle, using cutting-edge projections and fireworks on select nights. This breathtaking nighttime spectacular honors the rich history of Walt Disney Animation Studios, featuring moments from classics like "Peter Pan," "Hercules," "Frozen," "Moana," "Encanto," and more.

"Tapestry of Happiness" at "it’s a small world"

Each evening, "it’s a small world" will transform into a luminous tapestry celebrating Disneyland’s 70-year legacy. Using projection mapping, music, and special effects, this display will highlight beloved Disneyland attractions and moments, paying tribute to Disney legend Mary Blair’s iconic artistic style.

"Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!" Parade at Disney California Adventure

This high-energy daytime parade brings together beloved Pixar characters from "Luca," "Turning Red," "Up," and more in a heartwarming celebration of friendship. With lively music, vibrant floats, and tons of Pixar pals, this parade is a must-see for guests of all ages. The song will get stuck in your head for weeks, but you won't be mad about it.

"The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade" Brings More Disney Friends to Disneyland

A brand-new character cavalcade will take over Disneyland’s parade route, featuring beloved characters like Goofy and Max, plus rare appearances from Duffy and the beloved ShellieMay! Cavalcades are such a fun way to insert a bit of energy and character love into your park day, and we're sure this will quickly become a fan favorite. Expect music, energy, and plenty of fun as this high-energy celebration rolls through the park.

Mickey & Friends Debut 70th Anniversary Outfits

Mickey, Minnie, and their pals will be dressed in brand-new, sparkling 70th Anniversary outfits. Featuring bold colors and shimmering details, these looks are perfect for commemorating this special occasion with a magical photo op in Town Square!

New projection show on Carthay Circle Restaurant

New decorations will be popping up across the parks, from a stunning 50-foot Sleeping Beauty Castle-inspired sculpture in the Esplanade to elegant anniversary medallions, colorful banners, and floral displays, Disneyland Resort will be decked out in celebratory decor. But the thing we're most excited about? Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure will feature a dazzling evening light show set to the new anniversary theme song, “Celebrate Happy.” This is such a fun addition to Disney California Adventure! And be sure to stop inside Carthay Circle Lounge for a cocktail or small plates - the food and drinks here are excellent! If you time it right you can even watch the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade go by as you enjoy your meal.

New Magic on Attractions

Several Disneyland attractions will receive special anniversary touches, including a brand-new "Coco" addition to "it’s a small world." Miguel and Dante will now join the children of the world in song, framed by a glowing marigold bridge. Over at Toy Story Midway Mania!, guests will find special nods to Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary woven into the carnival-style games.
